A Weekend in Paris

~ Paris holds the key to your heart! ~
Any Anastasia fans in the house?

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this in previous “weekend in” posts, but I highly recommend staying in Airbnb’s when traveling because it gives another layer to the experience. When you stay in someone’s home or apartment you get to see what it’s actually like to live in the city you’re visiting — something you miss out on with hotels and hostels. We stayed in the cutest Airbnb in Paris.

I can do a whole post dedicated to my experience with Airbnb if you’re interested! But, without further ado…let’s go to Paris, shall we?

Stop by the Eiffel Tower

You have to do it! Specifically, I recommend walking underneath it and then continuing to walk through the Champ de Mars to get different views while enjoying the park. If you have the time, going to the top is almost always a recommendation. But, if you’re only in Paris for 48-72 hours like we were, I feel like it’s okay to skip the trip up.

Visit the Lourve

Don’t forget to take the classic tourist picture outside before heading in to admire all the art. My girl Mona will be waiting for you with a smirk on her face.

Warm up with some hot chocolate from Angelina

The most luxurious hot chocolate you will ever have in your life.

Walk down Avenue des Champs-Élysées — starting at the Arc de Triumphe

With a reputation for being one of the most beautiful avenues in the world, how could you not? Plus, the Arc de Triumphe is another classic Parisian landmark you have to check off your list. Two birds with one stone type of deal right here.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a Ladurée macaron

I’m sure there are many other places that are less touristy for macarons, but you have to do it at least once — and they do not disappoint. The earl grey macaron is to die for.

Take a day trip to Versailles

I think the word “breathtaking” was created as a result of the Château de Versailles. Although we couldn’t spend as much time there as I’d like, and as it deserves, I am so happy we ventured out of the city on our short trip to Paris. The palace and the surrounding grounds look like something out of a fairytale. It’s hard to believe people actually used to live there.

With love,

Esra
